So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.
There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Hebrews 4:16 NLT
Song: Run to the Father
Artist: Cody Carnes
My heart has been in Your sights
Long before my first breath
Running into Your arms
Is running to life from death
And I feel this rush deep in my chest
Your mercy is calling out
Just as I am You pull me in
And I know I need You now
I run to the Father
I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding
No reason to wait
My heart needs a surgeon
My soul needs a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
There is always an open invitation to run to our Heavenly Father. This song beautifully describes The Good News of the Gospel. We can always turn to Jesus, no matter what we think we’ve done to “mess things up” in our lives. There’s no outrunning Jesus. The love of our Savior is everlasting and is not based on a checklist of things we need to do.
Intimacy with Jesus
Our Father longs for intimacy with us. James 4:8 NIV says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” When we humbly submit our need for Him, He will meet us at that moment. We can then experience the true joy that is obtained when we walk alongside Jesus.
Personally, I have arrived at the place in my life where I undoubtedly know that I cannot do life without Jesus by my side. When I try to control every little detail in my life based on my limited viewpoint, I only end up feeling frustrated when “my plan” doesn’t go the way I envisioned it. However, God knows all, sees all, and has already determined His plans for my life. I now have finally realized that there’s no outrunning Jesus!
