Raise your hand if you have ever taken a selfie and then you’ve gone back to edit yourself with a photo filter? Or maybe you took one look at yourself in a particular photo and then hit the delete button. 🙋🏻♀️
I’m also guilty of comparing myself to other women. Instead of feeling encouraged, comparison leads me to feel insecure, inadequate and not worthy.
Learning to love yourself God’s way begins with humility and acceptance. As a recovering perfectionist, I need to give myself grace as much as I give others grace. If I don’t finish everything on my to-do list: It’s ok! As a woman, I also do not need to compete with the number on the scale, the size of my jeans or the number of wrinkles on my forehead! Accepting myself, as perfectly imperfect, allows me the freedom to let go of my past sins, failures, and flaws.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but how many likes you get on Instagram/Facebook does not dictate the way that God views your worth. He has created you in His image and according to His plan and purpose for your life!
